Brown Eyed Girl Wins Korea Music Award 2010
Brown Eyed Girls dominated the Dance and Electronic categories in the Korea Music Award 2010.
"Abracadabra" and "Sound-G" winning for Best Song and Album.
The KMA is known for selecting nominees and winners based on musical value and not on popularity or album sales.
Besides Girls Generation and Brown Eyed Girls, mainstream K-pop artists 2NE1, SHINee, Kara, Epik High and Baek Ji-young were the only ones nominated in the KMA.
The Album of the Year, Musician of the Year and Best Rock album awards went to Seoul Electric Band.
Gukkasten and Apollo 18 were both named Rookies of the Year.
Lee Sora bagged the Best Pop Song for "Track 8" and Best Pop Album for “7th Album.”.
Ra.D’s “Realcollabo” was named Best R&B and Soul album while Jung Yup’s “You are my Lady” was named Best R&B and Soul song.
The Best Modern Rock album award went to The Black Skirts for “201” and the Best Modern Rock song award was given to Broccoli, You Too?’s “A Universal Song.”
Gukkasten won the Best Rock song for “Mirror.”
Drunken Tiger won the the Best Rap and Hip Hop album award and Overclass won the Best Rap & Hip Hop song.
